Sorry there the Ood have 3 brains the Forebrain, Hind Brian and that Great big Giant brain.

As for the Sontarans Not having might controlled sorry they do, Thrid Doctor Story, Sarah-Jane's first episode "The Time Warrior" the Sontaran's First episode also in Doctor Who. Sontaran warrior Linx comes to Earth in the Middle ages and lays claim to Earth for the Sontaran Empire. Linx used Mind Control to control scientists that he captured from the future to repair his damaged ship.

Donna is turning more and more to a modern version of Sarah Jane (who is probably holding the record of meeting the most incarnations of the Doctor - 6/10 so far iirc)

Lynne: The Ood just got two brains. The one in their hands is the one that came out of their mouth (which their "slavers" replaced with the translator)

How would "Planet of the Ood" have happened if the Doctor and Donna didn't turn up here?
Just what did those two do during the episode anyway?

The Sontarans have appeared in the classic series for quite some time (and in quite some episodes) and what I saw of them in "The Sonraran Experiment" (with Dr 4) fits the style of this episode.

The Sontarans don't have any sort of Mind Control. They are warriors not manipulators. Therefore they needed a clone of Martha to take her place and take control of the resources UNIT could have used against the Sontarans.

The Doctor saw Sarah Jane and Rose clash in "School Reunion", so he feared for the situation when Donna and Martha met.

Martha's fiancee is the doctor she met in last series' finale. She mentioned him during her appearance in Torchwood.
